Engagement Practitioner Test and Certification Now Available

Goals: Provide a Common Framework and Nomenclature for Engagement

The goal of the curriculum is to provide corporate practitioners and solution providers with a scientific framework for deploying effective engagement strategies for customers, channel partners, employees, vendors and all audiences to achieve sales, marketing, human resource and other goals. The curriculum helps organizations determine the appropriate mix of tactics to achieve measurable objectives and promotes the use of a shared nomenclature to facilitate communication.

Free Education

The curriculum was developed over three years by leading professionals in talent management, with input from corporate practitioners, solution providers and academicians. People can prepare for the certification, as well as access valuable how-to information on all aspects of engagement, at no cost at The founding sponsors who made this possible include Dittman Incentive Marketing, EGR International, Maritz and the Incentive Research Foundation. Other contributors include Avatar/HR Solutions, Canon, Conyingham Performance Group; FIRE Light Group, Harco, Hay Group, The Horsepower System, Marketing Innovators,, Qube Learning and Rideau, Rymax, as well as Paul Hebert, now of Symbolist.

The Test is Free

There is no cost to take the test. People can take it as often as needed to pass, although the questions change from session to session. The test is broken into four sections, each requiring about 15 minutes, to minimize the time required to complete the test in any one sitting. Click here if you are ready to test your knowledge. Optional Certification

Those who pass are eligible to receive the Certified Engagement Practitioner (CEP) designation demonstrating their knowledge of this emerging field, or obtain advanced certifications based on submitting a case study of an engagement program and/or obtaining certifications in other areas of engagement. The CEP designation costs $500 for five years, and certified individuals and/or companies receive a listing on the Enterprise Engagement portal under Practitioners. Advanced Training Available

Advanced face-to-face training is available at a special session at the upcoming Rewards & Recognition Expo and Conference in New Orleans, held in conjunction with Recognition Professionals International’s Annual Conference, April28-30, and at upcoming Marcus Evans events, or in customized programs for individual companies. These sessions prepare people for certification by covering all of the key topics and include an exercise for developing an engagement strategy based on the needs of participating companies. History and Faculty

The Enterprise Engagement Curriculum is based on a meta-analysis of research dating to the 1990s, as well as input from over 100 practitioners in industry and academia. It covers the economics, audiences, implementation framework and tactics of Enterprise Engagement. The curriculum project was spearheaded by:

  • Melanie Lewis, Senior Consultant with the Enterprise Engagement Alliance and former Director of Commercial Engagement at AstraZeneca.
